Upon the orders and signals of its founder and protector Atatürk, the Turkish Historical Society started archaeological excavations in Alacahöyük in Çorum Province in 1935, thus opening a series of excavations managed with a specific plan in Anatolia, which hides the old treasures of our national culture. Ministry of Culture Director of Antiquities and Museums B. H. Z. Koşay and his archaeologist B. R. O. In order to give you a brief idea about the first results of the Alacahöyük excavation conducted by Arık and the skeletons unearthed there, it would be very good to mention a few excerpts from the conference given by the Vice President of our Institution, Ms. Afet, on this subject in Genve and Ankara in 1936 on behalf of the Turkish Historical Society.
