Short shot of a manuscript, contents: From fol. 16b-426 the volume contains the "Akbarnāma" from the 18th to the 47th year of Akbar's reign. The first 16 folios contain an introduction narrating the story of the conquest of Sūrat, which falls in the 17th year of Akbar's reign. At the end there is an appendix of 40 sheets containing the history of Akbar from the 47th year of his reign until his death in 1014 [h.q.] [1605]. This appendix is not by Abu-'l-Faḍl, the author of the "Akbarnāma", but was written under Sulṭān Ǧahānşāh, whose praise is expressed in the preface. The entire volume was written by the same hand, script: Taʿlīq, defect: the text is damaged in many places, old signature: Quatremère 26, BSB provenance: Étienne Quatremère (1782-1857)
