Short shot of a manuscript, content: A volume of a novel, entitled "Būstān-i ḫiyāl". The same is initially referred to as "Bahār-i dūyam", which bears the name "Muʿiz-nāma" and is divided into a "muqaddama" [Introduction] and 2 "Gulšan", of which the manuscript contains the first "Gulšan"; Each "Gulšan" breaks down into 2 Gulzār. The name “Muʿiz-nāma” is taken from the hero of the novel Muʿiz-ad-Dīn, i.e. Ḫalif al-Qāʾim bi-amrillāh. The "muqaddama" concludes on folio 78. Contains the "Ḫuršīd-nāma". At the beginning it says: 'Bostani khial, the Bower of Imagination, a Persian Romance. The first copy known.' The manuscript is from the library of Archd. Swinton Esq, Contents: BSB Cod.pers. 185 and 186 together form the first Gulistān of the second Bahār of the entire work. The third Bahār (that is the second Gulistān) carries according to Cod.pers. 185 the name Ḫuršīdnāma, script: Taʿlīq, features: at the beginning and on folio 83b magnificent arabesque decorations, dated manuscript: at the end there is the date 1160 [h.q.] [1747], old signature: Quatremère 1, BSB provenance: Étienne Quatremère (1782-1857)
