Short shot of a manuscript, contents: The third volume of the "Akbarnāma", entitled "Āʾīn-i Akbarī", which contains a statistical description of Hindūstān under Sulṭān Akbar. Copy from the year 1148 [h.q.] [1735 or 1736], the 17th year of the reign of Muḥammad Şāh Pādişāh Ġāzī. Die ersten 25 Blätter enthalten ein Inhaltsverzeichnis. The manuscript bears the inscription: 'Presented to me by the Chauncer of the East India Company, Sir Robert Campbell. 14 Dec. 1831. Munster.' Then: 'W. Richard Johnson'. This work is known to have been translated by Francis Gladwin, script: Taʿlīq, old signature: Quatremère 27, BSB provenance: Étienne Quatremère (1782-1857)
