Short shot of a manuscript, content: Samples of the calligraphers Ḥusain ʿAlī and Mīr ʿAlī are bound together in the manuscript. Ḥusain ʿAlī, who enjoyed calligraphy samples, is probably the chief guardian of Shah Tahmāsp. 1.) The letters of the Arabic alphabet individually and in their connections, on nine pages. Written by Mīr ʿAlī al-Kātib. 2.) The first surah (Arabic), one page. 3.) The names of God (Arabic and Persian), five pages, script: Nastaʿlīq, old signature: Quatremère 78a, BSB provenance: Étienne Quatremère (1782-1857).
