Notes
Short recording of a manuscript, content: A selection from the mystical Dīwān of Ǧalāl-ad-Dīn Rūmī. - According to the heading, it is the Dīwān of Šams-i Tabrīzī. It contains around 300 ghazels arranged according to the alphabet of rhymes. - As "Taḫalluṣ" [pseudonym] appears Šams-i Tabrīzī and Ḫāmūš. - From Fol. 203: A round song "tercīʿ" and some ghazels by Šaiḫ ʿIrāqī, writing: The copy in Nastaʿlīq is quite modern, literature: According to Sprenger pp. 489 and 497, Ǧalāl-ad-Dīn Rūmī used these two names in his poems "Taḫalluṣ" [pseudonym]. That we really have poems by Ǧalāl-ad-Dīn Rūmī is confirmed by the fact that several of the ghazels which appear in Vinc. v. Rosenzweig's selection from the Dīwānen Ǧalāl-ad-Dīn Rūmī, Vienna 1838 and in Hammer's poems of the beautiful oratory arts of Persia are in our collection, old signature: Quatremère 210, BSB provenance: Étienne Quatremère (1782-1838)
