Notes	Kaddish Yehuda Liv Silman (1880-1937) was a writer, journalist, educator and one of the founders of Tel Aviv and the Beit HaKerem neighborhood in Jerusalem. Born in Lithuania and received a traditional education, but also studied general studies and Hebrew. Worked as a teacher in Vilna and in 1899 published stories and articles in the "Hamilitz" newspaper. In 1907 he immigrated to the Land of Israel and settled in Jaffa. In 1909 his family joined the estate. Later he sold his house and moved to Jerusalem, where he was one of the founders of the Hebrew Gymnasium and the Beit Hakerem neighborhood. He was a member of the editorial staff of "Haaretz" and "Davar Hayom". His house was a meeting house for writers and poets. He composed stories, plays and articles while continuing to engage in education. He died in 1937 and was buried on the Mount of Olives. His archive was deposited in the Ganzim Institute of the Writers' Association and includes a division of letters and manuscripts. Among the manuscripts you can find many of his humorous poems and columns, among others the draft of his poem "When Rabbi Elimelech" is preserved. In the letters division you can find letters he received from Shlonsky, Brenner and many others.
