Amos Keenan (1927-2009) was a writer, journalist, playwright, painter and sculptor. Born Amos Levin in Tel Aviv. He studied and was educated at the school for children of workers and at the Hashomer Hatzair movement. Dropped out of high school, and worked as an industrial worker. He joined the Lahi organization, and later enlisted in the IDF, and fought in the War of Independence. After his service, he engaged in journalistic writing for the "Haaretz" newspaper, and was responsible from 1950 for writing the satirical section "Uzi and Co." In 1953, he was arrested on suspicion of attempting to assassinate the Minister of Transport at the time - Zvi David Pankas, but at the end of the trial he was acquitted due to doubt. Following the affair, he decided to move to Paris, where he lived for about nine years. After his return to Israel, he continued to engage in writing and creation, and was also active in the public arena, often criticizing Israeli policy regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Kenan was a multidisciplinary creator who was identified in his youth with the Canaanite movement. In 1984, he released the dystopian novel "The Road to Ein Harod", one of his most prominent works, which was also adapted into a motion picture. Died in 2009 in Tel Aviv. In the Ganzim Institute of the Writers' Association there are 3 divisions: collections, manuscripts and letters. In the manuscripts, one can find, among other things, drafts for various versions of the novel "The Road to Ein Harod", and the novel "Shoah 2", as well as the torio in the "Uzi and Co." section. In the collections division are kept press clippings that he collected about David Zvi Pankas. Correspondence with Dan Ben Amotz, David Avidan, Nurit Gertz and others are preserved in the letters division.
