In this file: Documents related to the Islamic Waqf and Aharon Laish’s seminar “The Waqf in the Modern Middle East and North Africa” in 1990. Among these documents are pages containing notes in Aharon Laish’s handwriting as well as articles in Arabic, Hebrew and English about the Waqf. The file includes an article by Aharon Laish in English entitled “The Islamic Waqf in Palestine and Israel from the late Ottoman era until the 1980s” (The Muslim Waqf Projects in Palestine and Israel From the Late Ottoman Period to the 1980s). Also, an article in Hebrew about the Waqf. Also an illustrated copy of the book Justice and Justice for the Elimination of Waqf Problems written by the late Muhammad Qadri Pasha in 1893. In addition to a copy of a summary of articles in English, it includes a summary of the article “The Muslim Waqf in Israel” by Ahron Laish related to the Absentee Property Law. The file also includes: an article in English by Ahron Laish entitled “The Waqf in And also an article in English by Noel James Coulson entitled “Modernization of the Shari’a in Libya: The Law of Waqf” in 1979. In addition to a document in Hebrew entitled “Changes in the Institution of Endowments in the Arab Countries” (תמורות במוסד הווקף במדינות ערב The file also contains pages that include notes in Aharon Laish’s handwriting about the endowment of Abdul Mohsen Abdin in 1971, in addition to a photocopy of the endowment’s argument from the Jaffa Sharia Court record. The file also includes documents related to Aharon Laish’s seminar on “The Waqf in the Modern Middle East and the North.” “Africa” documents include a catalog for the seminar in 1990, in addition to a photocopy of an exam prepared by Aaron Laish within the scope of the seminar course. |
