Notes	In this file: Documents related to Aharon Laish’s research on “Ottoman Records of the Sharia Court in Jaffa.” Among the documents are: photocopies of the records of arguments from the Jaffa Sharia Court in 1926 and the records of newspapers No. 15, 16 and 18 from the Ramla Prosecution Agency in 1889 and the Nazareth Sharia Court. In addition to pages containing notes in Aharon Laish’s handwriting in English and Hebrew, as well as photocopies of Sharia fatwas and records including notes in Aharon Laish’s handwriting between the years 1813-1926, the file also includes handwritten letters received to Aharon Laish in 1970 regarding the records of the Sharia courts of Jaffa and Nazareth. The file also contains a letter from Khuda Baram (חדוה ברעם), Concentrator and Coordinator of the Fundamental Research Fund at the Israeli National Academy of Sciences (מרכזת הקרן למחקר בסיסי בניהול האקדמיה הלאומית הIsraelית למדעים) to Ahron Laish in 1981 and 1982 for a two-year research grant. Also a letter from Ahron Laish to Professor Yehoshua Ben Zvi (יהושע בן אריה) from the Yad Yitzchak Ben Zvi organization (יד יצחק בן- צבי) in 1979 regarding a request for a research grant. In addition to a printed copy of a letter from Yehoshua Frenkel (יהושע פרנקל) - ongoing research assistant, to Ahron Laish in 1980, including information about Yehoshua Frenkel's academic qualifications. A printed copy of a research report prepared in 1984, as well as a printed copy of a scientific abstract (תקציר מדעי) in Hebrew on the subject of the research.
