First bāb contains an alphabetical list of principal animals with concise descriptions of their properties and habits. A short treatise on hunting from the religious point of view and the lawfulness of animals for consumption. Text is divided into three chapters (faṣl), last chapter includes a list of animals, birds and insects. 11 lines per page, Indian nasta'līq, catch words. Title and copy date from the colophon. Manuscript. Incipit : حمد بىحد و غاىت و شکر بىعد و نهاىت پادشاهى را سزاوار است ... Presented to the library by Casey Wood in 1927. Full bound black leather, black bubble grain cloth over boards, some pages are badly damaged by worm and some are restored, stab sewn.
