Notes Related to MSP leaf 73A. This scribe, Mullā Mīr 'Alī of Hirāt, (d. 1518) known as "The Illustrious," served his apprenticeship as a pupil of Mullā Zainuddīn of Nīshāpūr. He subsequently imitated and developed the style of another famous calligrapher, Mullā 'Alī of Mashhad (d. 1504) Illuminated gold and dark blue end piece. Catch words, poems divided into 2 columns, black ink. Single leaf detached from Taymūrnāmah. 4 lines per page, nasta'aliq hand with elements of shikastah, rule-borders. Calligrapher's name from colophon. Poem. Manuscript. Incipit : ورقهاى نظم رودکر بباد ... Written on a brown paper, illuminated end piece, laid down on a card between illuminated gold frame and double gilt border lines, gold paper borders with floral background design, polychrom illuminated pendants and medallions on the borders.
