Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr al-Suyuti al-Shafi’i says: Praise be to God who tested the scholars. After some people read at the end of the book al-Shifa by al-Qadi Ayyad his saying, and he singles us out specifically to the group of our Prophet and his group, so he read it with a sukoon on the yā’ - for he is a Persian with an Arab, not an Arab, and even a non-Arab prisoner, as stated by Abu Hatim al-Lughāwī in the book al-Zina.
