Praise be to God, by whose grace good deeds are completed. He mentioned some of the deeds that are needed in knowledge of the appointed times and arranged them into twenty-five chapters. The first chapter is about dissolving mastic and sandros - the third: rub a little of it with your glitter on your hand and leave it until it dries and shakes off, because if the dye is in place, it is maftoosha, otherwise it is not.
