After the basmalah; Our Lord, give us mercy from You and provide guidance for us in our affairs. May God’s blessings be upon Muhammad and his family forever and ever. For the greatest of all sciences in value and the highest in honor and illumination is the science of interpretation. I have always commanded myself to write a book in this art, intending to call it after I complete it “The Lights of Revelation and the Secrets of Interpretation” - and the wisdom in sending down books, perfecting messengers to people, and completing theoretical power whose ultimate perfection is monotheism, and the restoration of power. The process, which is shielding yourself with the garb of piety, and on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, “Whoever recites Surat Ibrahim will be given ten good deeds as a reward, according to the number of those who worshiped idols and the number of those who did not worship them.”
