Açıklama Researchers have proposed various micro and macro reasons of the possibility of secularization of Iranian society. One of the main micro reasons in the field of religion, can strengthen the possibility of secularization in Iran is the dominance of a functional view toward religion. After the formation of Islamic government, in order to prove the functionality and usability of religion in various aspects of life and to preach and save it against other religions, some introduced the functionality of religion. Specifically, materialistic functionality was introduced which was more feasible and understandable by all. The dominance of this view, in analysis and explanation of religion can seriously threat the nature of religion and set the ground for expansion of other religions. Therefore, special attention must be paid in functional view toward religion to minimize its negative impacts. Preserving the ultimate aim of religion and concentrating on introducing it with respect to religious teachings can prevent the aforementioned factor to cause secularization.
