Notes Letter to Revd Professor James Robertson, New College, Edinburgh, 17 November 1785, from R Threiplands, London, enclosing copy of the qaṣīda, or ode, 'Let us stop and weep' (قفا نبك qifā nabki) by Imruʾ al-Qais Junduh bin Hujr al-Kindi (died c. 500), with transcript of letter. Interlinear transliteration and English translation underneath the original Arabic text of the poem. The original poem consists of 78 distichs of which only 35 appear on the 8 pages the manuscript at hand. The manuscript is entitled: قال امرالقیس الکندي (Imru' al-Qais al-Kindi said), The Poem of Amriolkais Alcendio in Arabick Incipit (the poem): قفا نبک من ذکری حبیب ومنزل Explicit (the poem): اذا هي نصَّته ولا بِمعطَّلِ
