Notes Colonel William Tweedie, "Turkish Arabia being an account of an official tour in Babylonia, Assyria and Mesopotamia, 1886-7", published Calcutta, 1888. Printed book with numerous manuscript marginal comments and interlineations, mostly of a philological nature, in the hands of Tweedie and others. The interspersed handwritings are mostly in Arabic, ranging from surahs of the Quran to isolated words and phrases. However, there is also a distich in Urdu inside the back cover, which reads: “مين لايق دوزخ هون گناهون کی سبب / دوزخ نی کیا کیا جو مری قابل هی” (I am deserving of Hell because of my sins / But has Hell done anything to be worthy of me?).
