Sample Text [fol.2b] This is a summary of the science of algebra and contrast, comprehensive of its chapters and rules, including its issues and benefits. I compiled it in the Holy Sanctuary of God and summarized in it the entire purpose of this science... and I called it the quorum of the ink in the calculation of algebra... and I made it include an introduction and five chapters (etc.) — [fol.14a] ... in each type such that ninety-eight [as authenticated by Ahmad ibn al-Siraj] are not impossible for an answer, and this is the end of the summary. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon our Master Muhammad, his family, and his companions
