Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, a praise that will reward His blessings and reward those who seek Him. May God’s prayers and peace be upon the best of His creation, Muhammad, his family, and his companions. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds. God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs.

[fol.1b] Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Katheer al-Farghani said that the scholars who came forward in calculating the stars only understood the science of the movements of astronomy and what is presented in it by diligently examining and measuring (etc.) - [fol.60b]... As we have described extracting this from the individual tables, this is what is inferred from this, God willing, the book of Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Katheer on the making of the astrolabe and the proof of it has been completed.
