1b In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, O God, may your blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family, says the poor to God Almighty, our Sheikh Sheikh Shihab al-Din Ahmad bin Ghulam Allah bin Ahmad al-Koum al-Rishi al-Muaqqet in the Al-Malik al-Muayyad Mosque, may God immortalize his reign. Praise be to God, who made knowledge a sun whose rays were protected from eclipse, a full moon whose height remained constant to the heads, and a pole on which it revolved, so happiness is yours... And then, when I saw the desires for seeking knowledge shrinking in their shadow, far from the rate of seeking their inclination, and falling short of grasping the pinnacle of knowledge, their horses and feet were reduced to the lowest paths of understanding... — 49a And when I reached this point in this sentence, I decided to stop talking, admitting that My plural for this meaning was not by way of classification nor [by] the way of composition, but rather in the rank of abbreviation... Ghiyath al-Din Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Ali al-Andjani al-Husseini attached it to himself, may God forgive him, his parents, and the Muslims. Then fix the denominator of the ending and what is taken from it, and the work is completed by determining the position of the arrow, and God Almighty knows best.
