Notes This is a strikingly beautiful witness: folios 1b and 2a are framed with gold bars; The frontispiece (f. 1b) uses red and blue ink for its background; And there is gold ornamentation between each line. Throughout, the mathematical figure lines are drawn in gold, and red ink is used for labels, headings, and so on. An English note at the end of the codex states that this copy was for Sir John Murray, and it is comprised of 15 treatises, 468 diagrams, and according to a copy of Ṯābit. The original witness ends on f. 229a and bears a completion date of Šaʿbān 646 [=1248]. Another edition follows (ff. 229a-233a) beginning: It was found in some copies of Euclid... Increasing this shape is every pentagon with equilateral sides and the angles in a circle with a square of radius, etc. Its clear (f.232b) states: The speech was completed regarding completeness, prayer, etc. and the colophon informs us that this was completed Friday, Jumādỳ I 1211 [=1796] by Šāh ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz Buḫārī. | None
Sample Text [fol.1b] Praise be to God, from whom is the beginning and to whom is the end, and with whom are the truths of information, and in whose hand is the kingdom of things... And after I finished editing the Almagest, I saw that the last book on the principles of geometry and arithmetic attributed to Euclid of Tyre, with an inappropriate brevity (etc.) - [fol.229a]... for each one of them follows several of the principles of the other, and the explanation is close to its explanation, and if God Almighty grants me assistance in editing this book According to what I intended, let me conclude by praising Him. He is the best, successor and helper
