Recto: opening of a letter from Isaiah b. Elʿazar Šamāʿ (candlemaker or seller) to Abū l-Faḵr b. Abū l-Maʿālī. Prefaced by two lines of introductory formula (tarjama) at top left, with only the opening line of the letter proper preserved. A paragraph in Judaeo-Arabic asks for a quick reply. Verso: address in Judaeo-Arabic. Probably 12th-13th century, as the content of this letter was probably in Judaeo-Arabic.
