The preface is disordered, starting with be-shanid kas firistad kih mibayad kih an jahan-ra.... ; the satire on Mahmud is on fol. 3r, and the first actual page of text seems to be on fol. 3v. Fol. 4 (verse) is out of place. The disruptions to the text have been annotated carefully in pencil.The poem starts on f. 5r without any 'unvan or break, under a simple text heading: Aghaz-i Dastan.The text block is enclosed in a margin of dark blue - space - thin black - thick gold - thin black. The columns are divided by a single line, two thin black plus gold.The rubric boxes are plain, ruled two thin black lines with gold; calligraphy (thulth) in different coloured inks: gold (oxydized), tomato red, crimson, blue-grey.
