Notes Leaf 1: legal documents. Recto: after Abū l-Surūr b. Abū ʿAli dies in Sicily, his brother Futūḥ claimed his inheritance and the court establishes that after a third brother (Abū Saʿīd) has already died, Futūḥ is indeed the only known heir. Verso: Abū Saʿīd Ḵalaf Ḥalfon received 18 dinars from Abū l-Maʿālī Samuel the trader, who had been guarantor on behalf of Abū l-Maʿālī the banker from Maḥalla b. Obadiah for the orphan Bayān b. Ḥašīš. The court orders Ḥalfon to keep the money as a deposit for the orphan. Leaf 2: legal documents relating to marriage. Recto: sustenance for his wife Sārra is imposed by the Bet Din on Abū l-Faraj Ibn al-Šofeṭ. Dated Sivan 1460 of the Seleucid Era (= 1149 CE). Below is a trousseau list. Verso: Sitt al-Sāda claims her property after the death of her husband Abū l-Ḥasan. Signed by Ephraim b. Mešullam. Leaf 3, recto and verso: trousseau list of Sitt al-Maʿālī bat Mevoraḵ, for her marriage to Nathaniel ha-Kohen b. Aaron.
