Notes
Deed in which the merchant Abū Zikrī b. Joseph ‘the Aaronide Jew’, leases a house from Salāma b. Yūsuf. The deed also mentions Maḥfūẓa bint Yūsuf (‘adornment of the merchants’), Abū Kaṯīr, and Yūsuf (known as Ibn al-Šofeṭ). Abū Zikrī Kohen (Judah b. Joseph) is a wealthy merchant known from many other documents in the Cairo Genizah.
