Basmalah. Sheikh Imam Jamal al-Din Abu Amr Othman al-Maliki - may God reward him with Paradise - said: ... And after that, someone with whom I cannot disagree asked me to append to my introduction in syntax an introduction in declension in the same way, and an introduction in calligraphy, so I answered him asking and praying that he would benefit from them... - And both are written on both sides, i.e. with a yā’ and an alif... As for the letters, none of them were written with a yā’ other than balā for tilting his alif, and on and for turning their alif into a yā’ in upon you. And to you, and other than even, because it is written with a yā’ as a burden on to. The book was completed with the help of God, King Wahhab.
