Basmalah, praise be to God who expressed the Qur’an and the verses, and built things from the four light and heavy principles... As for what follows: He says... Al-Sayyid Hamid bin Al-Sayyid Al-Sheikh Yusuf bin Al-Sheikh Hamid Al-Bandarmawi by birth and Al-Iskdari by origin...: Since my nature was inclined to arranging unordered books... I wrote that with (Witnesses of Awakening within the Limits of the Science of Grammar)... - ...The poor servant released it to God... Al-Sayyid Hamid bin Al-Sayyid Sheikh Yusuf bin Sheikh Hamid Al-Hanafi Al-Jalouti Al-Bandarami, then Al-Iskadari, the author of that book, there is no doubt about it, in the city of Uskudar, in the district of Hassan Agha in Tash Maktab, which is my home now... on the seventh day of Rabi’ al-Akhir after the afternoon in the year 1166...
