Basmala, praise be to God who singled out the auspicious country of Yemen for faith, to the exclusion of all other countries... As for what follows, the science of history is a science of great stature and lofty luminaries thanks to which verses and reports are witnessed... And since the country of Yemen was one of the right countries and its blessed spot was blazing with lights... I called it the Book of the Joy of the Eyes with the news of the auspicious Yemen... - ... selling his glory for his suit, and I never heard of anyone who was exposed to it and the one speaking about them among the kings below them except that his circumstances changed. His hopes have diminished and his mind and the feelings of his family and wealth have been disturbed. So let him beware of those who disobey his command lest a temptation befall them or a painful punishment befall them... The letter was completed with the help of King Al-Wahhab on the fourth Thursday of Dhul-Hijjah of the sacred months of the year 1314 AH... in the city of Zabid...
