Abu Muhammad said, “My intention was mostly for those famous in poetry who are known to the ignorant of literature, and whose poems are cited in the strange, in grammar, and in the Book of God Almighty... — The book was completed with the help of King Wahhab, and praise be to God for its completion.. And that is the book containing Classes of Poets by Abu Muhammad bin Qutaybah, may God be pleased with him. And please him... and grant him abundant peace until you inherit the earth and those on it, and you are the best of heirs.
