Basmalah, praise be to God who facilitated access to the collection of principles from the hadith of the Messenger and made it easy, in about a third of its volume, to be brief with good narration and nice expression and summary of what is often explained and long... As for what follows, I have come across many of the books of hadith that the imams have written down in ancient and modern times, and I have not seen in them more comprehensive nor better placed than the book Jami’ al-Usul... which was written by Imam... Ibn Al-Atheer - ... and on the authority of Othman bin Abi Al-Aas, may God be pleased with him, who said, I said, O Messenger of God, Satan has come between me. And between my prayer and my reading, he put it on me, and he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said, “That is a devil called a pig. If you sense him, seek refuge with God Almighty from him, and spit to your left three times.” He said, “So I did that, so God Almighty took him away from me.” Another Muslim included it, part fifteen of thirty, which is half of the book.
