Basmala... Sheikh... Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Rashid Al-Bakri Al-Maliki said... Praise be to God who bestowed upon us His Mighty Book, honored us in it, and enabled us to recite it... So I compiled this summary, arranged it in an orderly manner, and called it “Chapter of Minds” in explaining what the chapters of the Book contain of the pillars, conditions, prohibitions, and reasons... — and you say the fourth as paternal sisters, mother’s sisters, wife, and grandmother, and the twenty-four is counted as the eighth, and nothing more than sons. And two brothers and a wife, and the talk remained about the operations, and there is a length that contradicts what I intended by the brevity... The blessed summary was completed with the praise of God, His help, and His good success, and the completion of its writing was on the blessed twenty-fourth day of the month of Rajab Al-Fird in the year nine hundred and eighty-one, at the hands of... Ahmed bin Ismail bin Qasim...
