Sample Text The Basmalah, a chapter on the prohibitions in prayer, is more general than being disliked or spoiling the prayer. The basic principle regarding any of the prohibitions is his saying, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, “Do not turn around in your prayer, for there is no prayer for the one who turns away,” and his saying, peace and blessings of God be upon him, “If the praying person knew who was speaking to him, he would not turn around.” On the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, she said, I asked the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, about turning away during prayer, and he said, “It is an embezzlement that Satan steals from the servant’s prayer... — ... we ask.” May God Almighty grant me success in working with knowledge and make us among the sincere, trustworthy, patient workers who are content with what He has apportioned for us... The completion of the copying of this book occurred at the hands of the weakest of God’s servants... on Wednesday the twenty-first... of the year seventy-nine and eight of May.
