After God facilitated us with his success and guided us in favor of his path, we had stipulated in the Book of Guardians and Inheritances from the Book of the Comprehensive Book of the Issues of the Mudawana that we make a brief book that comprehensively compiles the basics of the obligatory duties... — ...of the six remaining, take back one from the share and put it to the three, and give a quarter of that to the bequeathed... He completed the first and second book of the obligatory duties from the book of Ibn Yunus, the commentator of the Mudawwana... and it was complete. On the second ten of the month of Shawwal in the year by... Yahya bin Taqi al-Din bin Ismail bin Ubadah, known as Al-Halabi... and to all Muslims, Amen.
