Praise be to God who facilitated access to the collection of principles from the hadith of the Messenger and made it easy, in about a third of its volume, to be brief with good narration, nice expression, and summary of what is often explained and long... As for what follows, I have come across many of the books of hadith that the imams have written down in the ancients and the modern, and I have not seen in them more comprehensive nor better placed than the book Jami’ al-Usul from the hadith of the Messenger... So I sought God Almighty’s help in abstracting its information and traces... - And on the authority of Uthman ibn Abi Al-Aas, may God be pleased with him. On the authority of them, he said: I said, O Messenger of God, that Satan has come between me and my prayer and my reading, and he is trying to put pressure on me, so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: That is a demon called Khanzab, so if you sense him, seek refuge with God Almighty from him, and spit to your left three times. He said: So I did that, and God Almighty took him away from me. Muslim included him...
