Praise be to God alone and may God’s blessings be upon our master Muhammad, our master, the jurist, the Pasha, my master Idris al-Sarraj, may God protect you, may God’s peace and mercy be upon you, and upon our master, may God grant him victory. And after my master, Aj Muhammad al-Ja’dumi, who commanded us, we direct him, with the permission of my master the Caliph, may God honor him, to do the most honorable law. God named him there with the boatmen because they complained against my master the caliph, and God supported him, and we found him a very old man in pain. He is unable to come there, and he has to order his representative (Bitr) to do the Sharia there and to serve and peace. On the 23rd of Rajab al-Fard in the year 1289, your successor, Ali al-Mazkiti, may God grant him peace.
