Notes Praise be to God and to our beloved and honorable jurist, Sidi Idris al-Sarraj. May peace be upon the best of our Lord, the Imam. After that, Sidi al-Madani bin Sidi Mansour al-Tilmisani, mentioned above, who was not found in Oujda. We have exerted our efforts in searching for him here, and we have not found a trace of him. However, we found a brother of his performing Umrah at the carpenters’ shop. We asked him to perform what he owed his mentioned brother, and he replied that there was nothing between him and his brother, so we gathered to perform that. He said that he is a weak man and his brother is specific. The blame now comes to him and he pays what he owes, but he did not do that and we took twenty mithqals from him and we worked with him to pay ten mithqals every month until he collects what is owed by his aforementioned brother. Consider that for Your Excellency and with love and peace on the 20th of Shawwal in the year 1280. The land of the jurist, Sidi Ahmed Al-Daoud, governor of Oujda, is to collect from Al-Talib Al-Madani bin Mansour what you had alerted them to of his debt to the treasury, so Sharif Al-Hadra brought that we were searching for him there in Oujda, but he did not find him and he did not reach it, so they searched for him if he returned to Fez, so that they could collect what he owed from him in accordance with what our master ordered, and peace be upon him, Shawwal 15, 1280 - - - Idris Al-Sarraj, may God grant him peace.
