The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful (...) Our sheikh and mentor said (...) Abu Zaid Sidi Abdul Rahman bin (...) Sidi Abdul Qadir bin Al-Faqih Al-Baraka Sidi Ali bin Al-Arif Al-Kabir Sidi Yusuf Al-Fassi (...). Praise be to God who chose the one to whom he bequeathed his book (...) This is a book I called “Taqeed” because it might stray from the texts of the Durrah and the Qasid. I made it a reminder for the reader of the three additional than the seven to complete the ten by the method of inscription and Durrah.
The end of the manuscript: The days of the Arab year and the important ones, namely, this is a chapter from which you can find out the number of days in the Arab year. It is called the lunar (...) meaning, rather, (...) is to ask with sincere intention, and it contains a graphic pun.
