The Sheikh Imam Abu Tahir Ahmed bin Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Salafi Al-Isbahani told us, saying: I read to Abu Nasr Muhammad bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Saleh bin Suleiman bin Wa’dan, the ruler of Mosul, may God have mercy on him, with his chain of transmission connected to Abu Saeed Al-Khudri, may God be pleased with him, that He said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying: “Whoever from my nation memorizes forty hadiths from my Sunnah, he will be included in my intercession on the Day of Resurrection.”
End of the manuscript: The fortieth hadith on the authority of Anas bin Malik, may God be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: There is no house without the angel of death standing at its door five times every day. If a person finds that his food has been exhausted and his life has been cut short, the grief of death is cast upon him, and his anguish overwhelms him (...) The consequence is sin, and God knows best. The Forty Hadiths of Al-Wada’ani were written and explained by the Sheikh, Imam, and scholar, Abu Nasr bin Muhammad bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Saleh bin Ibrahim bin Wada’an, may God have mercy on him.
