Notes Praise be to God alone                        May God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family, our supreme master, and our great benefactor, the blessing, the best, sir, Sir Idris al-Sarraj. May God keep you elevated and prolong life for us and you. Peace be upon you and God’s mercy for the goodness of our master. May God grant him victory. May God keep away from us and from you all that is disgraceful and place us all with those whom God has bestowed upon among the prophets and the truthful. And let you know, my master, may God bless you, when I commanded your dear man to speak your word. From every district of the city of Fez, may God protect it and you from every attack, they come with our master Al-Mansour Billah to Marrakesh. I complied with the honorable order and contracted with people from our district, which is called the district of Al-Isdaa, and they are Hajj Abdul Karim Al-Jaber, Hajj Muhammad Al-Sanhaji, Hajj Abdul Nabi Al-Dhaz, and Hajj Muhammad Al-Khalouf, your friend, and he is present for this, and the whole district has experience with what was mentioned, on the condition that they pay it to my children and the people of my household one hundred mithqals after I leave there, but they did not pay for this period of time. Nothing is small or great, and I have left eight (parts) of the hundred mentioned. Please provide them with something (parts). It is up to you to bring them into your hands and take for me the right (parts). May God keep you preserved, marked, and safe, and for your service. Peace be upon you on the 28th of Rabi’ al-Nabawi al-Anwar 1279, the writer of the letters, Hajj Muhammad al-Aghzawi, may God be kind to him.
