Praise be to God alone and may God’s blessings be upon our Lord Muhammad and his family, the earthly jurist, Sidi Idris Al-Sarraj. May God keep you alive and may God’s peace and mercy be upon you for the goodness of our Lord, may God grant him victory and after (the amputation of) the lower countryside of the mudshar of the gases about which we wrote to you and you told us to direct Muhammad al-Farkh to you, you will grow old over them. When they were informed of the sheikh of the other legion, he wrote to you about them and said what he said. They sent for Hajj Belkacem until he had the mudshar and they told him no. We accept the sheikh of the other legion, and if he writes something to the commander about us, he is telling him a lie. Here, Hajj Belkacem has come to you and he will heal you of the news. As for Muhammad Al-Farkh, he will respond in the wake of the letter. We love you. If he responds to you, give him a copy of the oil reins and give him permission to stand on it, and send someone to stand with him on the account with the student who was holding the numbers, because those people said it unambiguously, and they did not spend it when they were there. They are now selling the oil of the tithes, and they would like to do so. And if You have given permission to Muhammad Al-Farkh to stand and take account of that, so he will hold them accountable for a great deal and a little, until what reaches the trustees appears and what is detailed appears, and this is what I must inform you of. May God bless you and for the love of our master, and peace be upon him.
