The beginning of the manuscript: Praise be to God alone. The jurist Sidi J. Muhammad Kannoun, may God be pleased with him, was asked about a sheep with split ears more than a third wide, and it is not sufficient for a sacrifice or not. What is obligatory is to pronounce “kh” in his saying as a conjunction of what is not sufficient, or “cleft ear,” etc. And the slit is wide.
The end of the manuscript: If he is absent, the sitter takes over the matter on his behalf, and he has no right to delegate except (...) the officer, and he must guarantee what he neglected or transgressed because he is his agent and his hand is his plot, and he does not have the right to appoint destitute couriers and be spared the guarantee despite that, and God knows best.
