Notes
Praise be to God alone. May God bless the days of our master the Basha, my master Muhammad Ibn Talib. Peace be upon you and your high presence, may God’s mercy and blessings be upon you. For the goodness of our Lord, may God support him and grant him victory. So let it be known, sir, that the waterwheel outside Boujloud we had started serving previously, and today Boujloud needed to be irrigated with water. Here we are, today, we have begun to complete it, because when the service was too much for us previously, we had enough of it. What is required of your Excellency is that you order for us. With three horseshoes for the donkeys remaining in the barn, to supply lime, and wages to the aforementioned waterwheel, and this is what was obligatory for me, Sir, the media, and at your service. Peace be upon you on the 12th of Jumada al-Awwal in the year 1275, Hajj Muhammad bin Jelloun.
