Notes
Praise be to God, my most guided brother, the dearest in God, the most auspicious caliph, my lord Muhammad ibn al-Faqih, the best, the most just, the leader, my lord Idris al-Sarraj. May God preserve your position, and peace, mercy, and blessings of God Almighty be upon you, for the goodness of our Lord, may God grant him victory. And after my brother, the money is a hundred mithqals and fifty-seven ouiqas. We sent it with the Wazzani. We would like your Excellency to write to me and deliver it. May God bless you for us. I wanted to and I ask you to delay this so that we can walk to Meknes in the presence of the overseers. Because in that case, a dispute occurred between me and them, along with the children of Al-Jubouri, and they repeatedly urged me to accept and disavow them of what I mentioned above, until Al-Jubouri was imprisoned and they were relieved of him, and I remained in their hands with a complaint to the Most High. And your hand is on our necks. Listen and obey, and this matter happened before the year of the locust (amputation). What happened to Al-Jubouri happened, and praise be to God, the successor to him. We ask God to bring us blessings. He has made it impossible for us to make peace in this matter, and we disavow ourselves. And the suspicion is for you (amputation). May God preserve your position. We ask you and the brothers to wish me and your love and peace. On the 9th of Jumada al-Awwal in the year 1286, Al-Tahham Muhammad Abrance, may God bless him.
