Notes
Praise be to God alone, the servant of our earthly master, Commander Idris al-Sarraj. May God’s peace and mercy be upon you, for the goodness of our Master, may God support him and grant him victory. Muhammad ibn al-Arabi al-Munai’i arrived in his dog and received what I had directed from the people of Fez that I found with him. He paid all my money and he was serious about searching for the plunderer and what they had looted, until everyone returns to his master soon, God willing. So he released the aforementioned al-Munai’i’s wife and paid her what was among the women’s possessions in total. The aforementioned commodity, such as wool, belongs to it and is not the property of the people of Fez. Peace be upon you on the 3rd of Jumada al-Thani in the year 1279. Ahmed, may God grant him success, Amin.
