Notes Praise be to God alone and to our eminent master, jurist, pasha, Sir Idris al-Sarraj. May God’s peace and mercy be upon you, for the goodness of our master, may God grant him victory. After you mentioned to us, first and second, in your book that you collected for us in the matter of Mr. Abdullah al-Ashmani the letter of our master al-Mansur Billah, so there was a command against him. I know, sir, that he never sent me a letter, and on his part, there is no evidence for us yet, because no letter from our master, may God grant him victory, ever taught us regarding the case of al-Ashmani. And when you mentioned to us twice, you made a letter for us. Our Lord, may God grant him victory, it is necessary to inform you that nothing has reached us. May the service and peace be upon you. On the 29th of Muharram al-Haram in the year 1288                                   your successor, Ali Al-Mazkiti, and do not accept from anyone a letter addressed to you until tomorrow, one of our companions, Muhammad bin Ali Al-Mazkiti, wrote it to you, because we feared that someone would write to you what we do not know about, nor do we have the writer with him, so do not explain it to us.
