Praise be to God alone And may God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family, the happiest caliph and the greatest leader, the caliph in the Idrisid presence, Sir Idris al-Sarraj, may God protect you and protect you and your honorable service, help you and strengthen you, and peace, mercy and blessings of our Lord be upon you for the goodness of our master, may God support him and grant him victory. And after, sir, the matter has been prolonged between us and you regarding the beating and harassment you have cost us (cutting off) Ghaitha, and here we are, sir, he has dealt with us. We were able to do that, and we took their money, cut off their necks, ate their crops, and destroyed them, and we lost eight horses and thirteen necks. As for the camp in which my master Abdel Salam came, it has been destroyed (amputated) by attack. Yes, except for the commander, Muhammad bin Qaddour, he supported us in this, but my master, whom we covenant with as one of our master’s ancestors, we have not found him now. If nothing is lost, our master will replace him and also give them lead and gunpowder, and that is non-existent now, and they thought that Our master did not aim for them, as the custom of his ancestors was awakened against them, and here we are, sir, still listening and obeying, and my master told us what is the intention of our master regarding these corruptions, and in the beginning of the Prophet’s Rabi’ al-Awwal in the year 1289. Peace be upon Sheikh Ahmed bin Muhammad bin Hadd al-Warani, may God protect him. Praise be to God, our love is the jurist, the long-lived, the best, the best, the only one, Mr. Musa bin Ahmed. May the peace and mercy of God be upon you. About the best of our master, may God grant him victory. After two letters were received from the sheikh of Bani Warayn, here we directed them. And looking at our Lord, may God support him, with love and peace, Idris Al-Sarraj, they asked for a successor to the horses and gunpowder they had lost.
