Notes
Praise be to God, our dearest, most honorable, earthly jurist, Mr. Idris al-Sarraj, may God’s peace and mercy be upon you, for the goodness of our Lord, may God grant him victory. Some of your companions came to the district of Shararda, children, and baptized a man with five of them among your relatives, the children of the Hajj. They arrested him and bound him in a document. Because of him, there was a turmoil there until some of the aforementioned sons of Idris came to the auction house and accompanied with him the aforementioned Hajj man, as you receive. For this, we love you if it is One of your tribes and you want to arrest him or bring him to your lordship. Report what he has to do so that we may inform the person in charge of the aforementioned tribe. He comes as we do. If we stop upon anyone in your tribes, we direct him to your lordship, for the common people’s affairs are not hidden from him. And with love and peace on the 6th of Jumada al-Ula in the year 1285 and the runner-up of the high status in God, my relief.
