The beginning of the manuscript: Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds... As for what follows, since the barbarians were, according to many of the most venerable people, the meanest of nations, the most ignorant, the most devoid of virtues, and the farthest from generosity, I decided to mention their kings in Islam, their leaders, their revolutionaries, their lineages, and some of their notables.
End of the manuscript: The intended purpose of this art has ended, and all that remains is talk about whether the land of Morocco was conquered by peace or force, and I did not find anything reliable about that. This is the subject of the letter of Sheikh Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali, along with other letters appropriate to this art, and God grant us success.
Provençal had published a fragment of the manuscript - up to folio 42 - entitled “A Historical Review of Berber News in the Middle Ages” by the New Printing Press in Rabat in the year 1352 AH = 1934 AD. Then the researcher Muhammad Ya’la edited this manuscript, relying on the two basic copies available in the public treasury and the Provençal Bulletin, and published it in the book “Three Arabic Texts on the Berbers in the Islamic West,” which was issued by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation in Madrid in 1996.
