And upon our dearest earthly lover and leader, Mr. Idris al-Sarraj, may God’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon him, for the goodness of our master, may God grant him victory. After that, we have received the protection of al-Hajji that he sent us with your childhood. Know that this case was reported to us when we were in the desert, and they mentioned to us that they had caught him as a thief, and they testified against him for that, according to what you see in this drawing that has reached you. The company of this and the lowest of them brought him to the city. Then after that, they claimed that he had escaped to them, and I do not know whether that was true, or they released him and we arrested him. To rebuke them for their negligence, and the bottom line is that here is a drawing of testimony against the thief pilgrim, which will reach you so that you may read it and return it to us. With love and peace, on the 8th of Dhul-Hijjah in the year 1280, the father of Muhammad, may God be pleased with him, was born.
